Lucy Liu (born Lucy Liu) is an American actor, voice actress director producer, and vocalist. She's a beautiful, talented actress who has helped many Asian actors to achieve success in Hollywood. Her fame was boosted by a number of popular early characters in television the series. The most notable was The Ally McBeal series, where she played Ling Woo the villainous character. The actress translated her sudden fame into major screen roles in films like Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. She then delivered a superlative performance as Japanese crime lord O-Ren in QT's Kill Bill Volume 1. In the same period she was also in box office failures, including Rise: Blood Hunter. For animated films such as Kung Fu Panda, Tinker Bell and others she voiced prominent characters. Mia Mason, in Cashmere Mafia as well as other smaller-screen parts, did not achieve any success. Southland is a highly praised crime-drama - established her as a leading actress. Liu is extremely careful when picking her roles so that she isn't a victim of stereotypes.
