Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's history combines family football scholarships and volunteering for the community. He is the youngest child from Lucious Selmon, and Jessie Selmon, who raised him on their farm in Eufala. Two, football. He is one of the three brothers that participated in the football team of Oklahoma. All three became All-America. They made the All-America team in 1973. Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the starters for one year. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award and the Lombardi Award for being the best lineman in the country. Over the course of three seasons, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy as the starter. The team also took home 2 national titles. The third scholarship was awarded to him. He was an National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon earned a degree in Education. Fourth-year service in college Lee Roy devoted ten hours each week on volunteer work. After college, he moved to Tampa and played for nine years for Tampa's Buccaneers. He made the All-Pro for three occasions. He then began his professional career. The first job he had was an Account Relation Officer at First Florida Bank, Tampa. He has worked in the past for Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. The Junior Chamber of Commerce honored Lee Roy in 1982 for being among the top 10 youngsters in the US. While a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighs a little over 256 lbs. He captained his college team in 1975. In 1993 he joined his current position at University of South Florida as an associate director of athletics. He was named to the College Football Hall of Fame by the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994, as well as in the Pro Football Hall of Fame of 1995. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented the Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. The award ceremony was conducted by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
